Immigrant Self Help Guide

The guide was created by Attorney Marc Christopher of Christopher and De León Law Office out of Milwaukee for the benefit of those who have recently moved to the United States, as well as community members who simply want to learn more about the immigration process.

Community Resources

Food Pantry

    Hours: Open every Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30am-11:30 am
  • First time: Bring a photo ID and proof of residency (Student IC Summary is ok)

Community Space

  • Location: 834 E. Milwaukee St 
  • Hours: Open Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30-11 am, Wednesdays, 3:30-7pm, Saturdays, 8:30 am to 2pm. 
  • Food, clothing, furniture, housewares, and other items free of charge. 
  • There are no residency, income, or other requirements.

Winther Counseling Service

New Beginnings

Irvin L. Young Memorial Library

  • Hours: Open Monday – Thursday 9am to 8:30 pm, Friday 9am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 9am to 3pm, Sunday closed
  • Free programs for children and families, free small food pantry, free coat exchange, Spanish-language materials, and community resources brochures available without a library card. The building is a safe place with heat/air conditioning and bathrooms.
  • An ID with proof of address is necessary to obtain a library card. With a library card, free Wi-Fi and computers, library materials and databases.
