Created pursuant to Charter Ordinance No. 4 and amended by Charter Ordinance 5 of Whitewater Municipal Code. The Community Development Authority of the City of Whitewater exists to promote housing and community development programs, sustainable development, economic opportunity, and increased tax-base, and empowerment of its residents to benefit the entire City of Whitewater. The commission reviews:
• Housing projects and development
• Loans to qualifying businesses
• Projects that increase tax-base
• Initiate policy to address blight, housing, tax increment and urban renewal
• Façade Loan Program for exterior improvements to commercial buildings
• Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for development in designated districts in the city
This committee consists of seven members consisting of two Common Council representatives and five citizen members. Terms are four years.
Committee meeting minutes are posted on the City website once they are approved by the Common Council or the respective Committee. The Committees review and approve the minutes of the prior meeting at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
